Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Choose from several morning departure times and embark on a 6-hour Kenai Fjords National Park cruise from Seward. Step aboard a 95-foot-long (29-meter) non-smoking cruise vessel designed with comfort in mind. Capture views of jagged icy cliffs along the Kenai Peninsula, fjords and calving glaciers — from inside the warm and spacious cabin equipped with seating and large picture windows, or from the multi-level observation decks.

Enjoy a fast cruising speed, with extra time to photograph and view wildlife and glaciers. Learn about the evolving geology of the Harding Icefield, which dates back to the ice age and forms the steep fjords. As you journey approx. 100 miles (160 km) round-trip from Seward, marvel at the breathtaking landscape teeming with marine life amid plankton-rich waters, which attract migrating whales.

Hear from your seasoned captain about the wildlife you’re likely to see at peak season, which may include humpback, minke and orca whales, as well as harbor seals, sea otters and porpoises.

Catch sight of migratory seabirds that nest in the Kenai Fjords, as well as other native flora and fauna. Watch puffins dive underwater and view the rookeries of more than 18 other bird species in the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, including black-legged kittiwakes and common murres.

Enjoy an onboard lunch (see sample menu below) before the captain sets voyage back to Seward port.

A must do when in Seward! We were fortunate to see multiple pods of Orcas, a fin tail whale, sea lions, doll porpoises, eagles and of course the tidal wave glacier. Such a beautiful trip.

A really great experience. The highlight of our trip to Alaska. We were able to see the glacier up close, a bear, a sea otter, puffins, sea lions, seals and a lot of other wildlife. Not to mention the phenomenal views of the fjords and the park itself.

Cruise was good,. The Captain was great at finding wildlife in the water. Good up close view of the glacier. Lunch left a little something to be desired. Staff was great. Don’t know if an adults only option was available, but would be nice.

Amazing scenery and wildlife

The Kenai fjords national park tour was amazing. We saw Aialik glacier, humpback whales, killer whales, otters, seals and sea lions to name a few. This tour was a highlight of our trip. The day we were supposed to go was a rainy day with choppy waters. They offered a refund or a reschedule or you could take the tour and if the didn’t get to make it out to the glacier they would give a 50% discount. We opted to reschedule for two days later. I was so glad we did. The weather was perfect. The only negative was the chicken wraps were a bit of a disappointment. They were mostly lettuce and the lettuce was somewhat brown. However the rest of the experience made up for it greatly.

What a beautiful itinerary! It was really remarkable! We loved to get so close to a glacier, see whales swimming close to our boat, appreciate beautiful waterfalls and even being able to touch the water from one of the waterfalls thanks to the ability of the captain on controlling so well the boat. The captain was one of the attractions with his knowledge about all we have seen and so well explained to us.

The Best Of Our Short Visit to Alaska for the First Time

WOW! We have never been to Alaska. We stayed only 4 days (1 of which traveling). I have had an idea of what Alaska was like, and, to us, this was the best representation of Alaska. Should we return I will do it again!

Kenai fjords was cool

Everything ran smoothly and we saw a lot of natural wildlife. Very pleased overall. Our day was a calm sea, but if you are prone to seasickness, you might want to take something. I got a little seasick when I went to the upper deck Got to see a iceberg too, so that was cool.
