This Mt Rainier day trip begins with a convenient hotel pickup in Seattle or near the SeaTac Airport. Then prepare for a narrated, scenic drive featuring Alder Lake Park and the town of Eatonville at the foothills of Mt Rainier.

Stop at Longmire, the visitor center at the southwest corner of the park, to explore their museum and National Park Inn. Visit Christine Falls, with one of the signature views in Mt Rainier National Park (look for the bridge). Then walk along the Nisqually River up to Narada Falls, considered the most popular waterfall in Mt Rainier State Park. It’s taller than Niagara Falls at 188 feet.

Then it’s off to the pinnacle event of the day: the view at Paradise, which is 5,400 feet above sea level. Purchase lunch here and take in the incredible view of Mt Rainier and the valley below. Be on the lookout for wildlife wandering around the mountain at any time.

During the wintertime, choose from an optional snowshoe or sled adventure, if conditions allow. During the summertime, simply enjoy the scene at Reflection Lake, which provides one of the most iconic views of Mt Rainier. It’s absolutely stunning. Be sure to bring a camera.

Finally, visit the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise to learn more about the history of Mt Rainier, including a brief film about it.

Then it’s back down the mountain to hit the road back to Seattle.

We we're super lucky to be able to see the full beauty of Mt. Rainier in mid-Oct! Our tour guide/driver, Lucas, is very thoughtful and flexible showing the best spots to view the scenery. He knows how to take the best photos and did it repeatedly for us and others. We Wish to thank Lucas for making our trip of Mt. Rainier a very enjoyable experience!

Stunning scenery and great day trip

Spectacular views and a very knowledgeable guide. The scenery was so beautiful it didn’t seem real at times. The guide customized the tour on the fly based on weather conditions to try to help us get a glimpse of Mt Rainier. If you’re on the fence about taking a whole day outside of Seattle for this, I was too but it was completely worth it.

Trip was wonderful, but bus ride very uncomfortable. Bus needs new shocks and/or springs. Riding in back was painful. John was very good but again the ride was way too ruff.

Thank you for your feedback. Our vehicles are well maintenanced and checked regularly so I will have our mechanic look into your shock/springs comment. We appreciate your review

This is truly an all day tour. Our day began with a late pick up from our hotel. Our guide was apologetic but it did start off on the wrong foot. After picking everyone up, we stopped at Fred Meyer, a grocery store, and was told to buy food for the day because there wouldn't be any food stops. That was inconvenient because we had to put our food in a cooler and eat on the bus. Once the tour started, our driver began telling stories about death and they were very grim. I didn't enjoy that aspect. We were given three hours to hike up Mt. Rainier and go to the gift shop. Afterwards, we made stops to various waterfalls, rivers, and had many photo opportunities. We were picked up at 0740 and returned at 1940. I would recommend this tour with minor changes.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes late pick ups can definitely happen when guests are hard to find and/or not ready and waiting as requested. This does have a trigger effect for the entire group, however hopefully you received notification from our office staff of his delay. Yes due to covid the cafe are closed and guests are told to either pack lunch or purchase at the designated stop. I would like to know more about your tour guide so I can address the storytelling that you described. Drop offs are normally between 6:30 - 7:30 PM for your 10-12 hour full day tour. I can see the guide did not cut your trip short and still provided the group a full experience. Please feel free to contact us directly if you would like to discuss your specific tour more in detail.

Best tour ever!

Just know, we are visiting Seattle from steamy, Corpus Christi, Texas. With that said, everything about our day trip to Mt. Rainier was amazing! Our Tour guide/BusDriver/Comedian/Historian was the real deal. He went out of his way to accommodate everyone on the bus and was so friendly. My fear was that we wouldn’t be able to keep with the pace of the hikes, but he was very understanding and reassured me numerous times that all would be fine. GREAT TOUR, with lots of GREAT ADVICE! I highly recommend you wear layered clothing or pack some in a bag, you’ll have plenty of room on the bus to store it. If you have favorite snacks, take them too or you can purchase all you want at a Grocery store he stops at before the journey up the mountain. If you are on the fence about booking this tour, take the leap and DO IT!!! You’ll love it!!! 🥰
