This guided tour of the Hana Highway has photo ops around every turn, from thundering waterfalls and sweeping vistas to rural towns by the coast. Visit areas like Pai’a, Keanae, Wailua Falls, and Pua’a Ka’a State Park, and make a stop at Wai’anapanapa State Park—home to a black sand beach.

Aside from the unforgettable sights, you’ll hear how Hana has played an important role in Hawaii’s history, from being the birthplace of Queen Ka’ahumanu to home of the island’s first resort. Nearly 5,000 people inhabit the district from Keanae to Kipahulu, which generally falls under the “Hana district” that visitors know it today.

The Road to Hana

Amazing sightseeing trip. Wayne, our tour guide was fabulous! Very knowledgeable about everything. The winding roads were too much but it was worth the trip. I recommend to schedule a tour vs driving yourself.

I received 2 texts and 3 emails that said we would be picked up at our hotel at 7:45am. The driver arrived at 6:35am. We had to rush to make the shuttle. He blamed the mistake on Viator. Otherwise the trip was fantastic.
Great tour and friendly staff!

Ron our tour guide was amazing, friendly and funny! Absolutely worth it since this tour takes you to places and lookout you normally would not stop at or know where they are if you were driving by yourself. You get a great tour of the entire coastline from north to east of Maui. Also a great tour if you are traveling solo!

We thoroughly enjoyed our all day tour to Hana and beyond with Ed our driver. Ed was a very relaxed, safe, competent driver who was a fountain of knowledge of the route. He was always ready to make photo stops whenever possible, never rushing anyone. It was a bonus to be able to charge our electronic devices in the van.

Maui Hana Coast Day Trip

Two thumbs up. I would recommend this trip to everybody including those of you who suffers from motions sickness like I do. Of course I had to take Dramamine less drowsy formula, this 13 hours trip was well worth it. Our driver/ tour guide, Gavin, really made a difference on this trip. Not only he is native Hawaiian, but he is truly passionate about Hawaii and preserving natural beauty of Hawaii. With his knowledge and explanation of every corner of Hana, now my favorite place in Hawaii is Hana. Simply breathtaking. I would deterred all of those dare drivers who opted to drive up to Hana themselves from doing it so, and let the professional do the driving. The one who knows Hana roads like back of his hands, Gavin. Bravo to Gavin and thank you for make our trip to Maui so enjoyable and memorable one.
