Our guide Dan was outstanding! The experience was amazing. We were blessed with great views of Eagles and the finale was 2 Orcas playing near our Kayak. The tour was just the right amount of time and distance to paddle. The equipment, staff and service was excellent. The driver was very knowledgeable and kept on schedule for pickup and return.
Great tour and guide

Fun outing! Plenty of time if you are on the Bliss to do this excursion. Easy to find at the port, short trip to their location, and small groups. Staff are friendly, and very patient with those of us who were novice at cayaking (and could not steer to save our lifes). Your pals from Arizona.
Great Day!

We saw the largest eagle's nest I have ever seen- looked like a tree house! A Humpback whale was feeding right by the dock and I have never seen a mouth so big!! I appreciated Eric's knowledge of the trees, mushrooms, and kelp on the tour and his passion for the area was infectious!! Thank you for the great weather and the information!!

Amazing Alaskan Views

This tour included friendly and knowledgeable guides, a beautiful place to kayak, and amazing wildlife views. I enjoyed learning about the size of eagles' nests, touching limpets and water jellies (our guide ate one), and getting glimpses of whales. The equipment was in great condition and the kayaking group had some freedom to spread out rather than stay in a large clump. The guide is local and has some interesting stories about being on the water year-round in southeast Alaska -- including one about a whale running into his sailboat and breaking the rudder off. We enjoyed some delicious snacks after the kayaking before getting a ride back into town. Highly recommended adventure.

Ketchikan Kayaking

We had a great time on the Ketchikan Kayaking tour. Our guide was a young man native to that area and had a wealth of knowledge. The tour started off with a lot of excitement as we saw jumping salmon, harbor seals, bald eagles and other wildlife. We paddled for quite a while, so we got a pretty good workout. Near the end, the excitement was diminished and it was becoming a bit more laborious due to the distance we had to go to get back to the dock. But quickly everything changed when our guide was radioed with an update that a Humpback whale was just spotted in the harbor. We all raced over to the area just in time to view it breaching a few times and one was 20ft in front of our kayak! What a sight........and what an experience!!
I would highly recommend this excursion.
An Awesome Experience: Kayaking Clover Pass!

We met Louis at the Ketchikan Kayak office across the street from Beth 3 of cruise ship dock. The offices were clean and welcoming and all staff present were too. Louis drove us, and another couple on an Eco-Bike tour, to the Clover Pass location where the fun begins.
We suited up for the Kayak Eco-Tour and paddled away with Grayson our guide. We were immediately impressed by Grayson's knowledge of Clover Pass. Grayson led us to Light Island first to warm us up, as we aren't regular kayakers. At Light Island Grayson filled us in about the different boats we were seeing in the pass as well as sea life we might also see.
Next we kayaked to next bigger island where we had a ton of fun. We saw two types of Jelly-Fish, seals came swimming up to us to check us out, then more seals swam towards us. Way Kool! Grayson was knowledgeable on the different trees and fauna. He pointed out edible berries and we tased a few. Very enjoyable,
Then we kayaked to a point to search for whale spouts. No luck, but Grayson pointed out other sights and the kayaking experience was refreshing.
We returned to Clover Pass office where we saw a huge sea lion nearby and that was interesting as Sea Lions are very, very big up close! We changed out of our rain suits and enjoyed some salmon dip outdoors with the other couple back from he Eco-Bike Tour. They enjoyed their tour very much too,
A short ride back to the ship dock, and Louis kindly dropped us off at the Totem Museum where we walked along the creek, watching the Salmon swim up-stream, down to Creek Street, Ketchikan. A pleasant 15 minute walk back to the cruise ship.
This was the best stop and tour on our 7-day cruise adventure. I highly recommend this tour and company. The guides are safe and knowledgeable. We were informed and had a great time! Thank you to both Louis and Grayson!
We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.
