Did not see as much as we hoped to

The staff was great. We enjoyed the narrative and helpfulness of Russell, Addie, Calvin, and Captain Brendan on Juneau tours & whale watch. Unfortunately, the whales were not as anxious to please. We saw lots of spouts and part of a couple humps, but despite the staff’s persistence in trying to make it a more memorable experience, we didn’t see more of the whales we followed. We did see a group of seals, though. We were dropped off at Mendenhall Glacier and visited the Visitor Center and hiked to Nugget Falls. We spent about an hour and a half and then took a later shuttle back to the ship.

Whale Tails & Mendenhall Glacier

, May 2022
We picked this excursion because the whale watching was first and you could stay as long as you wanted at the glacier. I really wanted to hike down to Nugget Falls and it was amazing. The bus ran every 1/2 hour so you could enjoy the park as long as you wanted. The whale watching was fun too. Our CaptaIn Michelle and Naturalist Rob did a great job!

Magical day with the whales

We had a magical day whale watching in Juno, Alaska. Viator was well organised from pickup to drop-off. Our bus guides were both lovely, giving us lots of local knowledge on the journey there and back. Then we got to the whale watch. Captain Ben and his little helper Russell were both fab! We saw whales, had a talk about local conservation and a grat laugh to boot. All in all it was a fabulous day out and would highly recommend it

Beautiful day in Junea!

I would recommend this tour. We were met on cruise port. The tours were off to a late start so we had to wait a bit but once on the bus to the boat we were met by amazing, friendly tour guides. We saw whales and sea lions and eagles on this tour. We were dropped off at the glacier to tour at our leisure and were given instructions how to return to cruise port on a shuttle bus.

They were professional...

They were professional naturalist who knew most of information about marine mammals and ocean. I really appreciate to all of guides :) I saw humpback whale which is my favorite whale even if it was rainy during whole day. I highly recommend people to prepare warm jackets, hats, and gloves if you will take this tour in April~!

Great time!

It was a great time! The tour guide and captain were very informative. We went in early May and were able to see some whale tails, but overall it’s best to go in late May or June for more action.

I recommend it

Remember folks wildlife tours are never guaranteed, there is rules in place to whale watching . We got lucky and we some tails even when is this early in the season. The glacier is a must in this town is a really good view !!!! Remember wildlife sigthing is not guaranteed even when they say otherwise. And if you want you can skip the tail chasing and spend your time doing other things , there is a great chance of seeing whales while you are in your cruise

Bucket list trip

, May 2022
We went on this trip in April. The team was very informative. We saw 2 humpback whales swimming on the surface and diving, but unfortunately no breaching. Apparently it’s very rare to see them do this 1) in Alaska and 2) at the time of year.

Juneau Tours Fab!

Smooth process from booking the trip to completion which is what you want when booking from overseas. All staff from Juneau Tours were fab, from first meet at port, bus drivers and boat crew, thank you so much 😊

Take the local bus to the glacier instead
Katrina_R

Not worth the high cost. If your travels take you there in April you should skip this as it’s too early. May have been better later. Guides first day out and he knew nothing about the area.

The staff were nice but...

, May 2022
The staff were nice but we never seen many whales .just glimpses . We were also disappointed we could not get closer to the glacier . We paid extra for that and yet we’re just dumped at the place and picked up an hour Later . I think this could have easily been done on your own without the aid of a tour operator

Captain Jess and Chris did an outstanding job on this trip!! They were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and outgoing. Made everyone on the ship comfortable. We got to see one of their favorite whales, Flame, several times. I would definitely recommend this trip.

Up close and natural in Juneau
Melanie_K
, Sep 2021
The naturists and captain were very informative. We had an amazing experience seeing both an Orca and several humpbacks including Mom and baby who cruised right to the boat. Alaska weather was to be expected but the rain and cloud cover did not deter the wildlife. Only recommendation is to allow for more time at the Mendenhall glacier.

Saw four whales. Very active. Highly recommend this tour. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly You were on your own at the glacier. Wish I had taken the hike to waterfall

Amazing tour service!
Meagan_M
, Aug 2021
Everyone on the tour, the bus drivers, the boat captain, and the naturalists, were amazing! Because we were all early on our way to the boat the bus driver stopped at a great photo spot to let everyone get pictures of the glacier with the fireweed in bloom. They took us to an area with a ton of whales and were all just as excited about the whales as the tour group. 12/10 would recommend.
