We were very far away from the whales. Several other boats were up close and personal. Nice boat tho.

Great whale watching

Great trip. Captain worked hard to put us on many whales. Great company our 2nd time and both trips were terrific.
Worth the time and fees.

It was outstanding effort by the crew and we managed to find several wells and several hundred sea lions. Saw several eagles many shore birds and got a lot of great information about the natural environment in the area.. bus driver had some great information about the local area and was fun to listen to.
Absolutely wonderful.

Seeing the mother and calf surfacing around our boat. The crew was great (Ben, Monica, and Sharon). Worth going.
Once in a lifetime

Over 14 named whales. Mothers and their calves swimming and breaching for over an hour. What a spectacular event!!!
No good reason to call Viator.

When we arrived Alaska Tales employee had no record of our reservation at all. We could not go at the time stated but had to wait for the next trip. Since my husband has a walking handicap it was not the best arrangement. I had the paperwork and it was correct. This is not the proper way to do things.
Saw 17 whales
, Aug 2021
The food for the 🐋 whales must have been all around us. We saw 17 separate whales. Several were close to the boat.
Gotta Go

Great experience, we saw more whales on this trip than we did a few years ago in Seward. Great captain and crew
Must do tour!
, Aug 2021
Entire staff was knowledgeable and very nice. Even the bus driver gave us excellent commentary and everyone was glad to see us coming back. Many of the tour businesses did not survive and almost all are mom and pop operations. You will definitely see whales and our naturalist even knew the names of the humpbacks that we saw. It was cold as hell but the boat was clean and warm. I’d say it’s a must see in Juneau and Alaska Tails made it memorable.
