Great intro to the Fairbanks area - culture center, museum, pipeline, and North Pole. Tour guide Ray was very informative.
Excellent tour!

Our tour guide, Lexi, was very friendly and shared a lot of good information about Fairbanks. We loved all the stops, especially, the Museum of the North. Great tour!
If you have a car, this can be done on your own

Learning more about the engineering and function of the Alaskan Pipeline was interesting. The museum on the campus of the University of Alaska in Fairbanks was also quite interesting but in some senses that was not really a part of the tour as the entrance fee for the museum is not covered in the price of the tour and each of us had to pay the fee ourselves. Because we had rented a car to use in Fairbanks we could have done this tour on our own a lot more economically. The cultural center is free and provides significant information about Fairbanks. The pipeline viewing center is open to the public and has information posted about the construction and details of the pipeline. And the trip to "Santa Claus Land" in North Pole is a short drive from Fairbanks and the only fee there is what you want to spend in their store. Windows in the van steamed up so it was hard to even see out when the guide pointed out items. The sound system in the van made it very hard for people in the back rows of the van to hear. Our guide, David, was personable and gave some information about the area but could have provided more information about the area as we traveled from place to place.

Thank you for taking the Fairbanks Heritage tour with us during your visit to Alaska. This trip is usually booked by people that visit Fairbanks and do not have transportation while here. We have many visitors from other parts of the world, that during the winter months, are not comfortable driving on our roads after they have been covered with snow and ice. We provide safe transportation for these guests. Admission into the museums is not included in the tour and it is stated on our website as such. We are sorry that this information was not relayed to you when booking or confirming your tour. Our staff has been instructed to remind customers of this when confirming pick ups from here on out. If you would like to further discuss your experience on this tour please feel free to contact our office during normal business hours so that we can assist you.

We had a great 1st day in Fairbanks. Our guide Clark is very accommodating, friendly and really knows his stuff. We are a group of 6 and everybody gets along really well. We especially liked and enjoyed the Santa Clause town. We just wish that we could have stayed there longer. Good experience. Thank you Clark!!!
We felt very rushed
, Jul 2021
The tour was pretty much what we expected but did make for a long day. I’d recommend cutting the cultural center or starting earlier. We felt rushed at each place and had to race through everything, except the pipeline while standing in the rain listening to our guide talk about things he could have said in the vehicle. Clark was a friendly guy, knows his info, but could provide the information while in route instead of having everyone stand and listen outside. This made a difference because we only had 45 minutes left for North Pole and didn’t know to check out reindeer first due to closing 15 minutes earlier than the store (we had to look through fence).
Worth it!

Great orientation to the area with stops at museums, town of North Pole and the pipeline. Courteous driver from the area was full of information. Plenty of time at each stop on our afternoon tour.

The tour given by Bob was very nice Though the museum of the north was closed Bob made up for that by showing some additional nice Fairbanks places Not in the itinerary like LARS where we saw musk ox and caribou, gold mines , nice viewing points if the Alaskan range from UAF campus , Chena river view spots etc.

Thanks for joining us. Bob is the real goldmine!
Great tour!

Lynley was a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. I enjoyed seeing various museums and wilderness throughout the Fairbanks area, and especially enjoyed seeing the Santa Claus house in North Pole! I was in Alaska for business and signed up for the tour alone. There was only one other participant, so it was almost like a private tour :) This was a perfect way to see the area as a solo traveler, without having to worry about driving in the snow! *If you are a solo traveler, not that there is a two-person minimum for this tour. I was lucky that one other person had signed up to take the tour, otherwise I would have had to pay for an extra slot.
Small group tours are so much better!

Dave picked us up promptly at the front of our Lodge. The van was clean and comfortable. Dave informed us it would be just the three of us for the day. He was quick to reorganize our day because we had already visited a couple of his scheduled stops. He was very knowledgeable and informative about the Fairbanks area and Alaska. We enjoyed our day and would recommend seeing Fairbanks in a small group. We learned so much more.

Dear Candy, thank you so much for leaving us and Dave such an amazing review. We do love to keep our groups small to give it a more personalized feel for everyone. We are glad that you had fun. Kind regards, Sylvia
Fine Day in Fairbanks

Bob, our driver-guide was wonderful. His knowledge of Alaska and Fairbanks was extensive and was very humorous.

We had a mixed group of 6 and visited 2 cultural museums that were very interesting. Then our guide let us choose between a few other places to visit. Since my husband and i had already been to North Pole and Pioneer Village, I suggested the Auto Museum. Well it was so fasinating I could have spend the day there. In addition to the beautifully restored antique cars there were manniquins dressed in period costumes that were simply exquisite .In all it was a wonderful day and Clark was wonderful

Because one of their vans was inoperable and we might have had our tour cancelled, we agreed to go a day earlier with a guide on his day off. Clark arrived promptly and informed us we were his only passengers. He then proceeded to give us highlights of the tour and we explained what we had seen already on our own as we had a rental car, and what we would be interested in seeing. He also made suggestions and we explored Fairbanks for the next 5 1/2 hours. Clark is very knowledgeable about the past history of Fairbanks. We therefore got a history lesson with our tour. Clark, you made our afternoon a memorable one. To anyone taking this tour, ask for Clark. You won't regret it!
