Old Gary (not that old :) ) was truly amazing. We learned so much of the area, history, people, and animals of Alaska this was one of our favorite excursions on the entire trip. Highly recommend. Ask for Old Gary if you can.

NOT WORTH THE HIGH COST

Very little was memorable-at least not good memories. The driver was late and then a 1/2 hour wait for a late guest. We had a late afternoon flight out and thought that if the tour was 4.5 hours, we would be back at about 1:30. Well, at least the driver was concerned about getting us back on time, but that meant rushing thru sights. The "walk in the rain forest" was laughable-took just a few minutes and the driver had little to say about it. Short stop to view a glacier. Then, a run thru a zoo. It was nice to see the wildlife, but we were on our own. On a tour we just completed the guide had lots of info about wildlife and plant life. I have taken other Viator tours and been pleased. This one was a disappointment and not worth $115

Good but not great

The weather was nice in Anchorage but rainy and quite cold on this trip. Be prepared. There were some nice stops but I would recommend, if there are more than one person in your party, to rent a car and do it yourself at your own pace. The guide did not teach us anything and the preserve is fine but nothing great. This was not my favorite tour during my stay. I am glad I saw the scenery though.

This is a perfect trip for anyone looking for a short, relaxing (~4 hour) tour of the scenery south of Anchorage. Though we had poor visibility at spots because of weather, the guide provided engaging and informative commentary throughout.

Despite cloudy and rainy weather this was a great tour. The weather helped ensure more animals where out at the conservation park as well. Matt did a great job throughout!

Great day of viewing Alaska scenary and wildlife. Our guide "Old Gary" shared stories and information that were relevant and also very interesting. The weather was rainy and I was wondering if the wildlife would be hiding. I was pleasantly surprised, the wildlife were out and about and seemed to be posing for us!

Do not recommend
Monika_B
, Jun 2022
Was mainly interested in the Wildlife Conservation Center, but there was not enough time for that, because we were rushing from one stop to another - including a 10 min break at a gas station. Why? You are way better of in renting a car and do all of that on you own pace. Do not recommend - absolute waste of money.
icon Response from Host , Jun 2022
The trip was five hours with scenic stops along the way. The gas station stop is for those wanting to grab a snack as there is not another stop to eat. We spent an hour at the Wildlife Center which was on the description. Other stops included Beluga Point, Bird Point a stop to watch Dahl Sheep, a water fall, Explorer Glacier, Middle Glacier, Byron Glacier and a walk through the rainforest. All are mentioned in the description that you bought.. Please I hope you read other reviews.
