Horseshoe Bay

Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver, British Columbia, V7W 2B6

The Basics

Many visitors arrive in Horseshoe Bay while en route to either Vancouver Island or Whistler, traveling independently, as part of day tours from Vancouver, or as part of multi-day tours through British Columbia. Vancouver Island– and Bowen Island–bound ferries depart regularly from Horseshoe Bay terminal, while the Sea to Sky Highway extends north from the town all the way to Whistler.

If you have time to spare in Horseshoe Bay, pause to enjoy the views from the waterfront, take a boat trip out on Howe Sound, or go swimming at Whytecliff Park, just west of town.

Whistler Sightseeing Tour from Vancouver: See Horseshoe Bay and Shannon Falls
Loved the Whistler trip. Our guide Jenny was fun and very knowledgeable. We stopped at Horseshoe Bay, Shanon Falls and then to Whistler. At Whistler we took a separate gondola ride called Peak to Peak which was fun and exciting. All in all, a very nice experience

Whistler Sightseeing Tour from Vancouver: See Horseshoe Bay and Shannon Falls
Was a nice trip from the cruise ship to the mountain top, with the stops to visit the falls and along the Sea to Sky highway. The trams going up from Whistler were amazing, and the Peak to Peak was breathtaking. Cloud cover stopped us from going all the way up to the bridge, but still was a great trip.

Whistler Sightseeing Tour from Vancouver: See Horseshoe Bay and Shannon Falls
This tour from Vancouver was the highlight of our trip!! Whistler was definitely worth it, but even with over 3 hours it wasn't enough time to see everything. If you're doing the gondola get in line right away or see if you can purchase your ticket online before hand. The line just to buy Gondola tickets was about an hour. That's a lot of wasted time. Go straight to the top of the second leg of the ride. See everything and take pics then stop back at the first peak for more pics then head back down the mountain if you want to explore the town at all. Time runs out fast. We were fortunate enough to see Bears too. The waterfall stop at Shannon Falls was beautiful!! The only negative thing about this tour were the two stops at the sound for bathroom breaks but there was nothing to see at these stops. I would have much rather been able to get out of the car and take pictures at the mining town Britannia Mine instead of just pass by. The other thing I think Viator should do is remove the picture viewed on this tour of the Squamish Suspension Bridge, you don't even stop at Squamish on this tour and that picture is very misleading because that is something you don't even get to do on the tour. Our driver Bijourne (I know that's spelled wrong) was very good. Overall we loved Whistler and this tour.

Whistler Sightseeing Tour from Vancouver: See Horseshoe Bay and Shannon Falls
Luke was a great host! I loved our smaller van so we got to know everyone which was great and the sights were amazing! The only thing I would say is it would have been easy to do an add on of buying the peak to peak bought prior at Whistler either by the company or at least told to purchase prior to coming. The line we were in was long at Whistler. I would not wait for the glass gondola as it for us was not worth the wait - it was better if we had just done the regular gondola to get more time in the snow! Shannon Falls was beautiful! Luke was great b/c he even said if your going to be late call me..and that was not what we got with anybody else. So thank you so much Luke!!

Whistler Sightseeing Tour from Vancouver: See Horseshoe Bay and Shannon Falls
This was the final tour of my holiday. My previous tours had been with LandSea Tours and I found their tour guides to be a bit more engaging than this tour company. In saying that, the tour was great and Shannon Falls and Whistler were breathtaking. My biggest tip is that you will get the option of doing a gondola ride near Shannon Falls or wait until Whistler - PLEASE wait until Whistler, it's a little more expensive but the Peak To Peak gondola ride is magnificent. I did my tour in late May so ski season had just stopped. p.s. Make sure you bring your own water, there was not enough on the bus for everyone even though it was to be included.
